A woman accused of murdering her two young children has stunned the courtroom — and the entire internet — after she openly declared that she doesn’t regret what she did.
The accused, 28-year-old Sarah Jennings, is currently facing two counts of first-degree murder after authorities say she intentionally killed her children — aged 5 and 2 — inside their suburban home in Colorado.
Emergency responders were called to the house after a concerned neighbour noticed days of silence and no sign of the children. Inside, officers reportedly found the scene “deeply disturbing,” with both children already deceased.
Jennings was found at the scene, calm and cooperative — but what she allegedly told police after her arrest has left people shaken.
“They’re better off now. I don’t regret anything,” she reportedly said during her initial interrogation, according to court documents.
In her first court appearance, Jennings refused to make a plea, instead asking to read a prepared statement. What followed was a shocking and emotionless monologue in which she appeared to justify the murders as an act of “liberation” — claiming her children were “never meant for this cruel world.”
