In what’s been described as one of the most chaotic moments of the Young Thug trial, the judge absolutely lost her cool and stormed out of the courtroom after ripping into the prosecution team for what she called ‘really poor lawyering’.
The whole thing went down after the defence pushed for a mistrial, accusing the prosecutors of repeatedly hiding evidence and dragging their feet on sharing crucial information. Judge Paige Reese Whitaker didn’t hold back.
She called out the prosecutors, saying:
“It is baffling to me that somebody with the number of years of experience that you have, time after time after time, continues to seemingly and purposefully hide the ball… for as long as you possibly can.”
The courtroom fell silent before the judge abruptly took a recess and left, leaving everyone stunned.
This trial has already been dragging on for ages, with accusations flying about mishandled evidence, private meetings that shouldn’t have happened, and a ton of delays. The prosecution is trying to pin serious racketeering and gang-related charges on Young Thug and alleged members of the Young Slime Life gang, but it’s clear the judge isn’t impressed with how things have been handled.
Now, she’s ordered the prosecution team to get professional training on how to handle evidence properly — basically telling them to get their act together.
It’s rare to see a judge publicly slam prosecutors like this, especially in such a high-profile case. The drama isn’t over yet, but one thing’s for sure — this courtroom just got a whole lot more interesting.
