Judge Frank Caprio has melted hearts once more after showing kindness to a couple who landed in court for disturbing their neighbours with loud music late at night.
The man and woman appeared in Caprio’s Providence courtroom looking embarrassed as the judge read out the complaint. Neighbours had called the police multiple times after the pair threw what was described as a “small get-together” that got a little too loud.
When asked why the music was blasting past midnight, the couple admitted they were celebrating a friend’s birthday and “lost track of time.” The woman added with a laugh, “We didn’t mean to bother anyone — we were just having fun.”
Instead of giving them a hard time, Judge Caprio chuckled and lightened the mood.
“Well, I think we’ve all had a good night get a bit too loud now and then,” he said with a smile. “But next time, make sure your neighbours are invited — that way, they can’t complain!”
The courtroom erupted in laughter, and even the couple couldn’t help but grin.
Caprio then decided not to issue a fine, saying, “It sounds like this was more of a celebration than a disturbance. Let’s call it a lesson learned — keep the music down, and we’ll forget this ever happened.”
The couple thanked the judge repeatedly, saying they’d make sure to be more considerate in the future.
The heartwarming exchange has been shared widely online, with viewers praising Judge Caprio’s trademark blend of humour, fairness, and humanity.
“Only Judge Caprio could turn a noise complaint into a life lesson and a laugh,” one commenter wrote. “He’s exactly what every courtroom needs.”
