A man completely lost his temper in court after being sentenced to life behind bars.
The 32-year-old, named Marcus Allen, had just learned he’d never see freedom again when the judge handed down his sentence — and things got heated fast.
Witnesses say Allen stood up and started shouting at the judge, slamming his hands on the table as deputies rushed in to calm him down. “You can’t do this to me!” he reportedly yelled before being dragged out of the courtroom.
The outburst happened moments after Judge Rebecca Moore sentenced him to life in prison without the possibility of parole for a 2023 murder conviction. The judge paused the hearing until Allen was removed, saying the court would “not tolerate threats or disruptions.”
Prosecutors later said the reaction “showed exactly who he is,” calling it an extension of the anger that led to the crime in the first place.
Outside the courthouse, the victim’s family said they finally felt a sense of closure. “We’ve waited so long for this,” the victim’s sister told reporters. “Now we can finally breathe.”
Allen is expected to be transferred to Illinois State Penitentiary, where he’ll spend the rest of his life.
