An influencer is facing serious backlash — and a lawsuit — after being accused of stealing content from smaller creators and passing it off as their own.
The online star, known as Ava King to her 2.3 million followers, has built a massive following with slick lifestyle videos, viral trends, and motivational posts. But several creators are now claiming that King lifted their ideas — word for word, shot for shot — without giving any credit.
One TikToker, who goes by @JulesMakes, said she was “shocked” to see her skit reposted on King’s page days later, with millions of views and zero mention of the original creator. “She even used the same captions and sound,” Jules told followers. “It’s like she didn’t think anyone would notice.”
After weeks of public call-outs, a group of creators have reportedly filed a joint lawsuit accusing King of copyright infringement and profiting off stolen work.
King has denied the allegations, posting on her Instagram Stories: “People love to tear others down when they see success. I create my own content — always have, always will.”
Fans are split in the comments, with some defending her and others calling for accountability. “Give credit where it’s due,” one follower wrote.
If the lawsuit goes ahead, legal experts say it could set a new precedent for influencer accountability in the age of viral content.
